Making Space for Culture

Cultural Infrastructure Limited provides guidance throughout the planning process helping to properly embed space dedicated to creative production and cultural consumption within developments.

Our comprehensive knowledge and unique industry experience ensures these spaces deliver the next generation of infrastructure for our cultural sector and creative industries.

Cultural Infrastructure Limited has over 15 years of industry experience in the development and management of spaces that are dedicated to the creative economy

We are described as “game changing” by the Mayor of London because we are successfully securing the next generation of homes for London’s creative industries.

What We Do

We specialise in working at the intersection of the property and cultural sectors.

Providing unparalleled grassroots industry experience, we ensure that spaces proposed for cultural production and consumption are viable, fit for purpose, and will ultimately deliver the next generation of infrastructure that is essential to our creative economy.

We guide developers, broker for charitable organisations, and advise local authorities and their planning officers throughout the planning process.

The projects and development sites we have helped to secure are used by the Greater London Authority as examples of best practice, and our unique knowledge has shaped new Cultural Planning Policies across the capital.

Why We Do It

The United Kingdom is a global cultural powerhouse, known for the quality, diversity, and innovation of its Arts sector. The creative industries are the fastest-growing part of the UK economy and were the quickest to recover after the 2008 financial crisis. Today they account for one in every six UK jobs, employing twice as many graduates than any other sector.

Yet spaces dedicated to these industries are scarce, and entirely absent from large parts of London.

New Cultural Planning Policies that look to redress this imbalance are in their infancy, resulting in confused proposals, protracted S106 negotiations, and spaces that are unsuitable for their designated cultural tenants.

Cultural Infrastructure Limited provides specific clarify here, helping to securing the crucial spaces that support our creative industries and cultural organisations, because without them, we risk losing home-grown talent and damaging our international competitiveness.
